Olin Library Arc has Photoshop Extended CS6 available on a number of computers.

To crop in Photoshop:

1.  launch Photoshop

2.  Open your image file (File>Open...)

3.  Select the Crop Tool

4.  click and drag from a side or corner of the image crop.

5.  click on the check mark in the top center of the screen to enact the changes

6.  save your cropped image (It's often a good idea to save the crop under a different name, so that you retain an original version of the image.)
