You may see this message when trying to access an electronic article from one of our databases:
"Licensing agreements for these databases require that access be extended only to authorized users. Once you have been validated by this system, a "cookie" is sent to your browser as an ongoing indication of your authorization to access these databases. This cookie only needs to be set once during login. If you are using a firewall or network privacy program, you may need reconfigure it to allow cookies to be set from this server. As you access databases, they may also use cookies. Your ability to use those databases may depend on whether or not you allow those cookies to be set."
The most common cause for this error is a browser, firewall, or personal privacy product blocking EZproxy's cookie from being set. Users who encounter this error are encouraged to adjust their local cookie settings to allow EZproxy's cookie to be accepted.
Here are the steps we recommend taking:
- Make sure your browser is configured to accept cookies.
- Clear your existing cache/cookies from your browser.
- Make sure your browser is fully updated to the latest version
- Don't use incognito mode as this prevents your browser from accepting the necessary cookies.
- Check to see if a firewall or other personal security product is blocking your browser's ability to accept the resource.
- Turn off any add-ins/plug-ins/browser extensions that may be blocking cookies.
