Yes, the library does have access to O'Reilly/Safari Tech Books Online. You can access the collection or individual titles:
To search the collection:
Method 1: Begin from the Database Finder entry (Note: read directions in the A-Z List entry)
Method 2: Begin from the Classic Catalog:
- Pre-step: Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Click on this link to the O'Reilly / Safari Database in the library catalog. https://catalog.wustl.edu:443/record=b6767642~S2
- Click "Connect to WUSTL FULL TEXT"
- Select "Not Listed. Click here." in the institution box.
- Enter your WUSTL email.
- If you have never created an O'Reilly account, you will be prompted to do so. If you have previously created an account with your WUSTL email, you will prompted to log in with your WUSTL email or password. If you forgot your password, you will be prompted to reset it.
To access from a specific book title found through The Classic Catalog or Quick Search:
You will follow the same steps as listed above, except you will begin from the catalog entry of the book you are interested in.
Log In Trouble - O'Reilly
If you log into Safari using your WUSTL e-mail address and get a message indicating that your trial access has expired:
- Please contact O'Reilly Support at customercare@oreilly.com or 1-800-889-8969
- Give them the WUSTL e-mail address you used to register for an O’Reilly account
- Ask them to switch your account from a trial to a regular wustl university account.
