EBSCO Access Issues:

The Problem:

Patrons have reported problems accessing specific EBSCO databases, including Academic Search Complete, while on campus.

Direct links to EBSCO databases, from the  A-Z Database list and elsewhere, don't connect to the desired database, but rather to a page asking you to choose a database from a list that includes only some of EBSCO's databases.

The Cause:

The culprit is the WIFI network. If you encounter this problem, you're often using the "eduroam" or WUSM WIFI network internet connection without realizing it.

When you are having this connectivity problem, “Washington Univ – School of Medical Library” appears at the top right of the EBSCO screen. You can see this in the screenshot above.

The Solution:

Change WIFI network to the wustl-encrypted-2.0. (You may be prompted for your WUSTL Key to login to this WIFI network.)
