Answer

Finding / sharing links to sources:

Many URLs copied from a browser address bar are unstable. Thus, saving these links is generally not the best method to get back to a source you found.

Look instead for a "permalink," "stable URL, "persistent link," or "share" option.

Here are some examples from some commonly used sources:

  1. The Classic Catalog
  2. Quick Search
  3. JSTOR
  4. EBSCO databases

1. Classic Catalog:

Stable links to specific books are located at the bottom of a book's record page.

2. Quick Search:

Quick Search offers a stable link option as well. It's easier to find since it is near the book's title and includes a graphic of a link above the word "permalink."

3. Databases: JSTOR

JSTOR includes a stable link near the name of the article. The word "stable" is visible in the URL.

4. Databases: EBSCO platform

EBSCO databases use the term "permalink" and include a link icon. Currently this option is listed on the right-hand side of an article's record.
