Answer

For dissertations by WashU alumni:

You may access alumni theses and dissertations through the following databases:

  • Open Scholarship Institutional Repository : Contains masters theses and doctoral dissertations from 2009-present plus some earlier theses and dissertations based on high demand or author requests

Note: Theses and dissertations under embargo are not available to read. Some theses and dissertations are restricted to the WashU community only and are not available through Interlibrary Loan.

  • Dissertations & Theses @ Washington University in St. Louis (1996-) : Proquest database of doctoral dissertations from 1893-present and some masters theses from 1960-1987

  • Older dissertations (approximately pre-2009) may be available in print, and are primarily shelved in the West Campus Library. Search by author or title in the Classic Catalog

  • Quick Search should contain records for theses and dissertations whether they are print or electronic

Note: Dissertations available as print copies in our Film and Media Archives are non-circulating items. We do not provide the service of digitizing a copy.

For scholars at other institutions:
