Mary Wickenhauser (later changed to her stage name of Wickes) went to grade school at Harrison (St. Louis Public School).  She graduated 8th grade in 1922 at age 12.  She went to Yeatman HS (St. Louis Public) for 1922-January 1926, and then transferred to the newly built (and replacement) Beaumont HS.  She graduated from Beaumont in 1926 at age 15.

Mary Wickenhauser attended W.U. from fall 1926 – spring 1930 (graduating when she was 20 years old).  She lived at home while attending college, at 6180 Pershing Ave (St. Louis), which is quite near campus.

For further details about her life, researchers can consult the Mary Wickes Papers at the University Archives, or see the biography Mary Wickes : I know I've seen That Face Before, by Steve Taravella (Jackson : University Press of Mississippi, 2013.)
